ELOPEMENT TIMELINE INFO
SCROLL FOR MORE
I don't even know what I should be asking...

The wedding planning process can be overwhelming, so many decisions to make, down to the very last detail of napkin folding. When it comes to deciding on your wedding photography collection, keeping it simple and with photo coverage that you actually want is the best option. That is why I offer custom collections, as well as the most popular collections listed below.
At the end of the day, when it comes to choosing your wedding photographer, the most important question to ask yourself is:
On the most stressful + fun day of my life, is she going to keep us laughing + sane?
WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY TIMELINE
READY to GO
1-1.5 hrs for Groom
1.5-2 hrs for Bride
AKA "Getting Ready"
Here are samples of what you can incorporate into your wedding photography timeline.
This will help give you an idea as to how many hours of wedding coverage you will need.
Please let me know if there are other moments you wish for me to capture.
I've started renaming "Getting Ready" to "Ready to Go" as technically you are almost ready to get this party started. Starts with shooting wedding details such as wedding invites (make sure to save one), engagement ring, wedding bands, flowers, dress (may want to get a cute hanger), shoes, etc. Feel free to include any special family mementos.
For grooms this means they are in their wedding shirt + pant. Photos taken will be of putting on shoes, watch, cufflinks, jacket, etc (you don't have to have all of these details). If there are groomsmen involved then hanging out photos, portraits and also portraits with groom immediate family.
For brides this means they are in their robes, getting final H + MUP touches. Then zipping on the dress, and putting on your shoes. If you have a bridal party we can take robe photos, popping bottle of champagne, and when everyone is in their dresses, I can take portraits and also portraits with immediate bridal family. Making sure every step is documented for you look back on and remember how the day began!
FIRST LOOK
WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY TIMELINE
15 min
First look as a couple
or
First look with family!
A first look is when the couple sees each other before the ceremony. Some couples choose this when they want to get their portraits taken care of already so they can enjoy the cocktail hour with their guests (formal + family portraits are taken right after ceremony). Some couples prefer to wait for the walk down the aisle to see each other for the first time. There is no "right" or "wrong" answer, there is simply preference. I don't push either way. The only time I would suggest a first look is during the winter and the ceremony time is close to sunset time. To get that magic hour light, you will want your formal portraits taken an hour before sunset.
As an alternative, you can do a first look with a family member as well. Whether it's with your bridesmaids, father, brothers, sisters, etc. It's your day, you get to choose.
CEREMONY
WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY TIMELINE
30min - 1hr
Times are all suggested times, you can always reduce or add to your liking.
Ceremony times vary depending if they are religious or not.
The ceremony is when everything comes together. All the preparation, mental and physical, that has gone into the two of you tying the knot finally arrives! It's such a privilege for me to get to document one of the most intimate and vulnerable moments between a couple. I also love seeing the guest reactions and how much they connect with you as well! The important thing is to have the ceremony be a reflection of your relationship and love!
FAMILY + WEDDING PARTY PORTRAITS
WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY TIMELINE
20 min*
*depends on family size
One month before your wedding date I will send you a family combination template for you to fill out. Here you decide the family groupings for the family portraits.
Within 2 weeks of your wedding date we will meet at your wedding venue to do a walk thru of the events and confirm the family combination shot list + portrait locations.
With the rush of happiness from the ceremony, you will both exit towards the designated family portrait area. If you chose to do a first look then you may go start the party over at cocktail hour. Normally the family portraits consist of immediate family members (parents, grandparents, children).Of course if there is someone special you want to include, you may do so! I will then go through your list like roll call and efficiently go through the combinations so we can then start with wedding party portraits. During the "ready to go" portion, if enough time was allotted, then the individual portraits will have been taken care of. IE Bride + Bride's parents.

During the "ready to go" portion, earlier in the day. I will have captured images of each of you with your groomsmen/bridesmaids. If for some reason we didn't get to it, then we can take them during this segment. If we did get those taken, then we just focus on getting the ENTIRE wedding party photos together. That means both sides and you two as a couple together.

FORMAL PORTRAITS
40min - 1hr
That "magic hour" light happens one hour before sunset. If inland, I would say starting 1.5hrs before.
My favorite part of the wedding!!! Your formal portraits!!! Whether it's after the first look or after the ceremony, I get so excited to capture all the love that you guys are feeling at that moment! Total emotional high! Don't worry if you are shy or feel awkward in front of a camera, I want you to ride that love wave and I will make sure to put you at ease and feel super comfortable + confident during this session. Here is where engagement sessions come in super handy as you will have already gone through this with me. I will guide you with some pose ideas but then let you two naturally do your love thing. And of course, keep you laughing + entertained the entire time! Cheers!!

COCKTAIL HOUR
You guessed it, 1 hr ;)

If you want to party during cocktail hour then I would suggest considering doing a First Look
During cocktail hour there are guests taking shots and there are shots of your guests. Table decor details get photographed, cake and dessert table, wedding tokens, like an album for your guests to write in, all gets documented. This way you can remember every detail, literally, of your wedding! Special musical performances will also be captured and enjoyed!

RECEPTION
2-4+ hrs
Let the dance party begin!!
We have come to the dining and dancing portion of the wedding day! In between there are some activities that you can participate in. It's all up to the two of you to decide which you will like to incorporate. You can do a grand entrance, first dance, toasts, father/daughter dance, mother/son dance, cake cutting, bouquet toss, garter toss, special dance performances. The world is your oyster. I always suggest I should finish 30 min into open dancing as everyone starts to get sweaty and perhaps you don't want those photos. If you want everything documented though, I can stay till the end. It's all up to you :)
