WEDDING photos: Gold Mountain Manor, Big Bear
There is nothing I love more than mixing nature and portraits! That is exactly what I got when shooting these wedding photos: Gold Mountain Manor, Big Bear! I met the lovely couple at San Diego’s Bridal Bazaar in January of this year. When they told me they were getting married in Big Bear my ears certainly perked up! I love shooting outdoor weddings in nature! Gold Mountain Manor hosts a beautiful ceremony site and nearby stellar scenery.

The bride and groom as well as many of their family members stayed at the Gold Mountain Manor bed and breakfast! I was making sure they bride and groom wouldn’t cross paths during the getting ready process since they were not doing a first look. When shooting the details like the engagement rings, I tried to incorporate the surroundings to really feel the environment we were in. Once you get the creative juices going, they really start to go!

Fortunately there were some neat props in the rooms! As soon as I laid eyes on the trunk I knew I had to incorporate it since it went with the groom’s jacket. It takes you back in time. We mounted it on to a table to elevate the trunk and jacket to make sure it was properly lit.

The bride and groom were both each very excited during the getting ready process! They were so happy to marry each other! They filled the whole place with love! We hung the wedding dress in the walkway of the bed and breakfast. Then moved some furniture around to add the shoes and bouquet. It’s fun to get creative, for example, the AC was next to the table where I wanted to shoot the shoes and bouquet so I covered it casually with her wedding veil. 🙂
