As a San Diego grad photographer, I love visiting college campuses! There are so many beautiful ones in San Diego. Like USD, UCSD, SDSU. Grad portraits are a great way to memorialize your studious years at college or grad school. It’s the cherry on top to your gradation. A proud moment to celebrate and capture! You don’t have to take these portraits alone. You can be joined by your significant other as well! You can take this opportunity to also have family or engagement shoots. In these Sunset Cliffs PLNU Grad + Family Photos | K + Q brought their son with them! I had the pleasure of doing their maternity shoot earlier in and this was my first time meeting him!
I was so impressed by how beautiful Point Loma Nazareth university is! Wow! Everywhere you turn, there is a photo opportunity. I wish we had al day there to photograph. We had pre decided on some spots as we were heading down to Sunset Cliffs for the second part of the session. The campus is an open campus, so I definitely want to go back and photograph there again. You have greenery, flowers, lovely architecture and epic views! You can’t go wrong there.
When preparing for your grad or senior portraits, keep in mind that you don’t have to wear the full cap and gown the entire time. You can do it in layers. I like to start with it all on and then peel it off as you go through the session. If you have multiple outfits, you might want to consider adding time to your session so you have enough time to capture each look, with and without the gown. If you don’t want to mess up your hair, you can keep the cap off and hold it in your hand.
