As a San Diego wedding photographer, it’s so exciting when your couple takes the next step and is about to start a family! When you get that San Diego maternity shoot request from them, you know it’s going to be a fun reunion! Daniela + Alex were naturals when I photographed them at their wedding at Gold Mountain Manor in Big Bear. In these Balboa Park maternity photos |Daniela + Alex were still effortless in front of the camera.
When you are booked for a maternity shoot, there are many ideas that you can offer to your client. As far as props go, you can let them know that they can bring baby shoes, or baby toys. This way you can incorporate them into the shoot with the future mom and dad or you can shoot the props isolated as well. Other props can be a chalkboard sign with the name of the baby or even a sonogram photo. The props are endless or of course, your client doesn’t need to have any.
Another option for your San Diego maternity clients is outfit changes. I highly suggest outfit changes because many times it is difficult to choose one maternity outfit. Also, in case your client wants some shots of the actual baby bump, they can choose a dress that opens in the middle. it all depends on your client and what they want. I always suggest Amazon or PinkBlush to find the outfits.
Balboa Park is a great location for portraits and weddings! I love all the different backdrops that it has to offer. I consistently shoot here and in the spring time we get the added bonus of cherry blossoms! Not only in the Japanese Friendship Gardens, but also along the park. Take a nice stroll to find them.
