USD Grad Portrait Photos | Patrick
Spring is around the corner and that means it is gradation time for San Diego seniors!! Both High School and College! 2020 caused many changes to schools and universities. Seniors in 2020 had to finish their school year at home. Many weren’t able to celebrate their graduation achievement, but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t be done in 2021! I love shooting San Diego senior portraits! The one I shot last week was a USD Grad Portrait Photos | Patrick. This was a morning shoot on the beautiful USD campus!

I hadn’t visited the University of San Diego in over a decade! So a few days before the shoot I went to visit the campus so I could get a lay of the land. I can’t stress enough how important it is to scout a location. Even if you have shot in the past at this location, I would greatly suggest going again because you never know how things can change. You don’t want any surprises during your shoot! I am glad I went because I was able to see the parking situation and also that there was construction going on.

Patrick loves his school and showed me all the great spots around the campus and his favorite landmarks. Luckily that day there was a mix of sunshine and clouds. I had requested we start early in the morning to avoid harsh light. We were pretty lucky with the weather, because when we were exposed to the most light, a cloud would come through.

It’s awesome to be able to celebrate a senior’s achievement through a portrait session! They study and work so hard, and this is when they get to smile and have a great time! I learned that Patrick majored in mechanical engineering! One of my favorite shots is when we were wrapping up the session and I told him toss his cap in the air!
