As a San Diego courthouse wedding photographer, I am looking forward to solely capturing courthouse weddings in 2023. I am excited to photograph at the Santee, San Marcos and San Diego locations. They each have their own personality and beautiful backdrops. San Diego courthouse civil weddings are definitely less stressful for couples than a full wedding. You don’t have to adhere to an all day strict timeline. You can spend however much time you like in whatever you want to do. The couple gets to dictate the day! This year was a little challenging shooting at the courthouse at the San Diego location as it is currently going under a remodel. It was supposed to be done by the end of 2022, but as I saw from this courthouse session, the venue is still covered up. No need to fear! You can still get gorgeous shots at the San Diego courthouse wedding as you can see from this session. Your photographer will know the new angles to shoot from and will work around the construction. You can also make use of the outside too.
If you are worried about the condition of the San Diego courthouse, I would definitely schedule a walk thru with your photographer. This should be done the week of the wedding date. That way you have the most up to date look of the place. Here you can also discuss if you want to have a first look with your partner. Your photographer can discuss with you possible locations and you can confirm that spot. You can also discuss where the family portraits will be. I always suggest you schedule the walk thru at the same time as your wedding so you can see what kind of light you will have when it’s your day.
