San Diego Courthouse Wedding | Marie + Cameron

As a San Diego courthouse wedding photographer, I love seeing the excitement and emotions that run through the couples! Many people have the misconception that a San Diego civil wedding doesn’t have the same gravitas as a “normal full day wedding”. I beg to differ. You still get the excitement nerves and the emotional tears of joy as you would a full wedding. It’s just a lot less stressful! In this San Diego Courthouse Wedding | Marie + Cameron could not contain their emotions of joy and tears of excitement as they saw each other for the first time at their “first look”.

Always feel free to ask for requests to your photographer. I am not guaranteeing they will always follow through. It doesn’t hurt though, to ask. If you have a moodboard on your Pinterest with some inspiration, don’t be shy and try some out. Marie brought a pair of pink heart sunglasses that looked absolutely adorable on her and Cameron! So if you see something you want to try, go ahead! I would just suggest doing a mix of photos with it and some without. You never know when you will change your mind on a look.

Another element of a “full wedding day” that you can add to your civil ceremony is having a first look. I always like to have a walk thru at the courthouse within two weeks of the appointment date. Then, collectively with my clients, we can decide on a first look spot. I would do the walk thru during the same time as the ceremony and session so you can see how the light will be. Always nice to be as prepared as possible! Also important for your clients to see and approve beforehand so the day of everyone is on the same page.
