La Jolla Beach Engagement Photos | Marlina + Jason
As a San Diego engagement photographer, I love capturing the love! Engagement sessions are a great way to prepare for your wedding day portraits! In addition, you can use your engagement photos for your wedding website and save the date cards! In this La Jolla Beach Engagement Photos | Marlina + Jason took me to the beautiful reefs of Birdrock. I usually go to Hogan’s, just north of this spot, but I was reminded of this gem too!
As I have mentioned before, it’s in your advantage to pick your session on a day where the low tide is closest to sunset time. Especially when photographing at a beach with reefs. A whole new underwater word is exposed and available to you during a low tide. And you get access to sand that otherwise would be covered up by the water.
I enjoy photographing along the La Jolla reefs because there is more texture in the backdrops. Also, these locations are more hidden and thus have less crowds. Lately, I have also been photographing down at Sunset Cliffs. It is more challenging terrain, but if your clients are up for it it can be rewarding. There are some other places around Sunset Cliffs where you can stay within just the cliffs as I did in this surprise proposal.
These two were so fun to photograph! They had great energy and were up for all the different spots along the beach! I am always a fan when long, maxi dresses are worn! They serve as a great prop. You can have them twirl in the dress and play with the train. It creates beautiful movement and flow for the photos. Your engagement session is a great way to wear some of your cutest outfits! The longer the session the more outfits you can add too!
