As a San Diego lifestyle photographer, I get to work with such cool and different clothing brands and people. I love learning the story they want to tell with each collection and portraying that throughout the branding session. As a San Diego branding photographer, it’s always important to discuss with the client the goals and objectives of their shoot, before the session. Feel free to suggest locations, times of day, organization of session, etc. In this Children’s Lifestyle Clothing Brand Photos | Wild Wawa | Spring Summer 2022 the first two collections were in shot in studio and in home.
The studio was located in North Park. I cannot recall if Wild Wawa booked it through peerspace or not. I feel like they did. If you don’t know about PEERSPACE, take a second to browse. They have so many options for rental spaces that are hourly or all day. A vast assortment of locations that will most likely fit your needs. It’s definitely work a check when organizing a session. Even though it was in studio, I still relied on the natural light that came in through the windows.
Why use a studio? I will always prefer the outdoors and the ability to play with the sunlight. However, the client decided on using a studio and in home because of weather. Spring and summer looksbooks are shot in the winter time and sometimes it’s too cold to shoot outside. The benefit of in studio is that it doesn’t get as messy, and the environments are controlled. I would have preferred access to more natural light had the windows been bigger.
In an indoor environment, you loose a little bit of the wandering spirit. Capturing those curious candid moments.
