Windansea Beach Elopement Photos | A + J

As a La Jolla elopement photographer, it’s no surprise that many people wish to have a beach wedding. There are some beautiful beaches along the La Jolla coast to choose from. Many people go with The Wedding Bowl located at Cuvier Park, in La Jolla Cove. It’s a beautiful location. It has a spectacular view! Others, those who prefer to have their toes in the sand, choose from other location options. In this Windansea Beach Elopement Photos | A + J got married barefoot with sand in between their toes surrounded by their family. The sunset that evening was out of this world!

Jamila, of San Diego Destination Wedding, was the coordinator for A + J’s wedding. She did a great job securing the perfect spot for their ceremony. It was a spring day, so fortunately the beach wasn’t packed. This is definitely something to consider when finalizing a wedding date. A summer beach wedding is definitely more challenging as there are a lot more people on the beach. I highly advise an off season date. Especially if you plan on getting married on a weekend date.

If you are looking for this Spanish moss on the rocks, be aware that it is seasonal. These rocks are mostly exposed in the winter and early spring time. It’s when the low tides are really low and the sand has disappeared (mostly) that expose these beautiful rocks! So be knowledgable of the seasons and how that affects the looks of the beach. Also, while on that topic, make sure to check the tide calendar when confirming your beach wedding date. You definitely want to make sure that low tide is near sunset, or when your ceremony time is. It is advised to schedule your ceremony time two hours before sunset. This way you have time for friends and family photos and then your couple portraits.
