WEDDING photos: Martin Johnson House

If you are looking for that secret cottage garden meets beach then you definitely have to consider having your wedding at and wedding photos: Martin Johnson House. This venue is in La Jolla and close to Estancia hotel, so you can get ready there and benefit from having wedding photos from both locations, more diversity 😉 That is exactly what this couple did.

The bride and her bridesmaids popped the bubbly at Estancia as they got their hair and makeup done. They were in tears when their bestie put on her dress! She was a vision! The room had a balcony which allowed for lots of natural light and a nice breeze. We then walked the property to take some portraits of the girls and details of the flowers and shoes!

Many times the groom comes to the venue ready to rumble. Sometimes the bride wants the groom to have getting ready photos and other times they don’t. In this case, the groom and his groomsmen came ready to wed! They were a super fun bunch!

If the ocean view doesn’t convince you to choose Martin Johnson House, then the huge giant tree (sorry, don’t know the name of the tree) that creates a beautiful backdrop for your I Dos! Make sure to calculate within an hour of sunset to get that beautiful magic hour glow!

After they cheered and fist pumped their excitement, we did their formal portraits. FYI- formal portraits can also be done before the ceremony, that is called “First Look”. For more information on that feel free to reach out to me. Happy to explain more. We had to capture them right from the aisle because we had to catch that beautiful light! It’s hard sometimes as everyone wants to congratulate them, but that’s what the cocktail hour is for 😉
