Cabrillo National Monument Wedding Photos | V + K
As a San Diego wedding photographer, I love when I get to photograph at such breathtaking locations. Which if you are getting married in San Diego, is pretty often! Imagine getting married feeling like you are on top of the world! Which when you are marrying your partner, it already does. San Diego offers such epic locations like Torrey Pines Natural Reserve and my new favorite, Cabrillo National Monument! Not only are they beautiful backdrop, but they are super affordable! With its natural beauty, there is no need to spend money on florals and decor. Plus you can’t bring in outside plants anyways. If you are looking for a small and intimate ceremony surrounded by nature, then definitely consider one of San Diego’s national parks! In these Cabrillo National Monument Wedding Photos | V + K celebrated such a beautiful afternoon surrounded by their close friends and family!

I cannot stress enough how important it is to do a walk thru before the wedding or elopement day! Even if you shoot here all the time, your clients don’t get married there all the time. It is crucial that you walk through the details and try out different positions across the allotted area for the ceremony. I have photographed another San Diego Cabrillo National Monument wedding here too and we did the ceremony in a different spot. It all depends on what your clients want and the number of guests in attendance. For a more relaxed day of, for everyone, definitely practice before. Of course you can always change it up day of if need be. Always a good idea to have a set plan first!

Don’t forget to check the tide calendar! If it’s low tide, I highly suggest getting portraits taken down below where the tide pools are. Definitely gives northern California vibes! So beautiful! Just remember that the park closes at 5pm. So depending on the time of the year, you may get golden hour right before it closes. If it’s a summer wedding or elopement it may be too right, unless it’s overcast.
