USD Grad Portrait Photos | Rosie

As a San Diego portrait photographer, the end of spring and early summer marks college and university graduate photos! It’s a fun and memorable activity to commemorate your time studying higher education. It’s the bonus prize to finishing all of your final exams! Some students choose to have their portrait session before the last semester ends and some prefer to do it after. Totally up to the student. If you are leaving campus once finals are over then it’s a good idea to do it before then. I would book if after an exam day so you aren’t worrying about studying for an exam the next day! In these USD Grad Portrait Photos | Rosie is celebrating her finish as Knauss School of Business. Such a celebratory time! A great sense of achievement!

First thing’s first, here is a pro grad photo session tip: Steam or iron your stole! Make sure you check the instructions based on the stole, but make sure it’s photo ready. Once you do, hang it on a hanger so you don’t end up folding it and creating the creases again. You could also roll it up to avoid creases. I know sometimes you don’t receive it till the day before, but try to do your best. Also, you can wear all different types of stoles and colors. You may have won many awards or been a part of different clubs, so feel free to wear each one with pride!

The weather. Be prepared for some May gray and June gloom. There might be a moment or an afternoon where the sun comes out but this season it was pretty gloomy. Here is another pro tip to make do: Start your session earlier! Instead of shooting during golden hour, the hour before sunset, start your session 2-3 hours before sunset time. It will give you more light. You want to avoid shooting when it’s dark gray clouds out. So make sure to check with your client if they are able to start the session earlier so he or she can be ready!
