UCSD Grad Portraits | AM
As San Diego grad portrait photographer, spring and early summer marks my grad portrait season! It’s an exciting time for students to be graduating from college or grad school! I look forward to this season every year. Despite sometimes getting May gray or June gloom weather, every session is a fun session with students buzzing about their accomplishments. What a time to celebrate and well deserved! In these UCSD Grad Portraits | AM personalized her cap and gown with her own style and heritage. So cool and so creative! I think it’s awesome when students add their personal touch to what would otherwise be a boring cap and gown.

For your grad portraits, I have many clients bring their significant other for a few photos or their parents for a couple photos. Graduation day can get hectic and this way you can guarantee you have some nice, professional photos already taken care of. You can still take photos the day of your graduation of course, but you will be less stressed knowing you have some already done. You can even have the others wear the same outfit so it looks like it was the same day. This is a trick I am seeing more parents do every year. They can just enjoy the graduation without the pressure of getting the perfect graduation day family photo.

If you plan on taking your grad portraits after graduation, may I suggest you remember to put on sunscreen for graduation. Many of the schools have theirs outside, and though it may be gloomy, the sun still burns! You don’t want to come to your grad session with a sun burn! Also, remember to steam or iron your gown and any stoles. Many times students don’t open the set until right before their grad portrait session and it looks super creased.
