San Diego Balboa Park Family Photos | LF
As a San Diego family photographer, I get many requests for beach family photos. With San Diego’s beautiful coastline, it’s no surprise. However, San Diego has so many attractive parks and other locations too. A very popular park is Balboa Park. There are so many different backdrops to choose from! One second you can have a nice greenery backdrop making you feel like in a forest and the next, feel like you are in Europe! In these San Diego Balboa Park Family Photos | LF, they wanted to use this session for their family photos as well as high school senior portraits for their son.
I love seeing families with older children, meaning high school age, doing family photos. I feel like once kids enter middle school, families stop doing formal family photos. Which is ironic, because this is when kids are at the age that they listen! LOL! But it’s nice to see families still continuing to get their families photos done. High schools senior portraits are a great reminder of that! So it’s a good opportunity to get both like they did in this session.
There is a lot of area to cover at Balboa Park. It is HUGE! If you have not photographed there lately, it’s definitely worth scouting around. A lot of diverse backdrops, so definitely get a feel for what is there and ask your clients what they are into to. Whether its architecture, greenery, pathways, etc. See what they are into or show them work you have shot in the past. Also, weekdays or way better to photograph at Balboa Park than the weekend! Especially when there are events going on at the park. So definitely try to schedule their sessions during the week, mid week.
