La Jolla Scripps Beach Engagement Photos | K + S

As a La Jolla engagement photographer, I love the excitement that comes along on an engagement session. It is a joyful time between a couple where they get to solidify their love for one another. I am sure many people wonder if they should have the proposal photographed or wait till their partner knows to get their input. It’s totally up to you. I have had clients do a proposal and then a more formal engagement session. During the proposal, you do couple photos right after you pop the question. So some partners may want to have worn a different outfit or a different location or they are exactly where they want to be. It can vary and the choice is yours. I have had other couples do an engagement session and pretend they are being proposed too as well. So it can go both ways. In these La Jolla Scripps Beach Engagement Photos | K + S, did the latter, but with their happiness being all over their faces you would think it was the original proposal!

If you are having trouble choosing an outfit for your engagement session, you can always add time to your session for multiple outfits. You can assign time evenly per outfit or just use an outfit for a short period of time. It is all up to you! Maybe you have an outfit for one particular purpose, then that is that. In this case, she wore the black dress for the in the water shots. This way, when it was wet, you couldn’t tell the difference. Had it been a light colored dress then you could have seen the wet part versus the dry. Keep in mind that for outfit changes on the beach you will have to bring a towel to use for changing. The bathroom is too far away to change. So if you are not comfortable changing that way, then stick to one outfit.
