UCSD Grad Portrait Family Photos | K + G
As a San Diego portrait photographer, the end of spring and start of summer is grad portrait season! College and grad students from all over San Diego universities and colleges are celebrating all their hard work and studies! A San Diego grad portrait session memorializes this achievement! The ideal timeline to book your senior portrait session is either April or mid June. If you want to avoid the may gray and June gloom, then these are the best times in hopes of getting sunshine! April is good because it’s before your finals, so you are not as stressed. June of course is after all your exams and you are in full celebration mode. The only time that June wouldn’t be a good time is if you go back home after finals. In these UCSD Grad Portrait Family Photos | K + G brought along their little ones to also make it a family session.

Usually I start all of my UCSD grad portrait sessions at the Geisel Library. There are many spots around there that are great to shoot at! Depending on the time of day that you have the session, certain spots are more appealing than others. Speaking of time, I would again suggest an early morning session around 8-9am or within an hour or two of sunset time. This will give you the most optimal lighting. It is also a great idea to ask your client if there is a particular part on campus that they would like. It may be in front of their department/ school. Make sure to ask beforehand so you can plan your time accordingly.

Remind your clients that they can wear a fun or cute outfit under their gown. You can photograph them with all the layers on and then you can piece it off. If they want to stick with the whole ensemble the entire time that is totally up to them. Always ask them and see what they would like for themselves.
