UCSD Grad Photos | PB
As a UCSD Grad photographer, I love when students combine on campus and beach location for the grad photos. For UCSD students, majority of the campus photos are taken at Geisel Library. Please note that if you want a photo next to your specific school on campus, you can certainly have that and at other part of campus that has special meaning. For the beach portion, the default is Scripps Beach since it’s right next to campus. I like going to Scripps pier and the beach north of it. In order to access the north side, you have to make sure the session is booked when the tide is low. In these UCSD Grad Photos | PB, was lucky and got some touches of sun during the beach sunset portion. It’s almost always expected to get May Gray and June Gloom, so this was a special treat!

As I have mentioned before, please please iron or steam your gown and stols! I will look much more polished! Many times, students are opening their cap and gown package right before we start the shoot. It will look creased and stiff. Steaming if makes it look more put together. Some students take it a step further and decorate their cap. You have MANY options. Don’t overwhelm yourself, do what feels like you. But definitely steam!

As grad portrait season continues on, it gets more and more crowded on campus and on the beach. As soon as you know when you are receiving your cap and gown, I would book your session as early as you can. Also this lets you get it done and focus on your finals. The sooner you book, the better chance you have of getting a session when low tide is near the time of early morning or sunset. There aren’t that many days where low tide is in the early morning or sunset, so you want to lock that in if you plan on having your grad portraits taken on the beach too.
