Terramar Beach Maternity Family Photos | M + R
As a San Diego maternity photographer, I love learning about new beach spots. We sometimes get used to our rolodex of beaches that it’s nice to branch out. There are so many beautiful coastlines along San Diego and north county! Each one is different and offers unique terrain. It is definitely important to consider who you are photographing to make sure it’s accommodating. In these Terramar Beach Maternity Family Photos | M + R brought me up to north county to Carlsbad. Of course you don’t have to go to the beach for your maternity photos, but it’s definitely a beautiful backdrop! Again, especially when low tide is at or near sunset!
When I stepped down to the beach, my jaw dropped! The green moss on the rocks, the cliffs, the long stretches of sand! I had to take it all in! There was so much beauty. When photographing at a new place you need to assess all the directions and angles the location has to offer. It is very stimulating! Here there is no coverage from the sun, so you definitely want to make sure it’s early morning or magic hour light. The clouds were incredible and during blue light hour they lit up! For it being late November, the water wasn’t even that cold!
What to wear to your maternity photoshoot! Definitely start searching as soon as you book your shoot! I would also order in multiple sizes as you will probably be bigger from the time you book to the time of your actual shoot. This way you avoid the stress of the outfit not fitting properly. You don’t have to shop maternity sites. You can also shop women’s and just size up and adjust straps and zipper where need be!
