Scripps Beach La Jolla Family Photos | L + J
As a La Jolla family photographer, the fall season brings an influx of family portraits. Families are getting ready to send out their holiday cards! The good news about living or visiting San Diego is that you can pretty much take family photos all year round! Only certain parts of San Diego give way to a season feel, but most people opt for the beach anyway! There are many beaches to choose from along San Diego’s beautiful coastline. In these Scripps Beach La Jolla Family Photos | L + J, picked a great evening where low tide was near sunset! Scripps Beach is one of my favorites at low tide as you get exposed to its underwater reefs and rocks!
The weather was a little hazy. Not complete overcast, but the full cloud coverage did roll in right at sunset. We were able to capitalize on a little bit of the blue hour light but not that much. I really pushed my trusted CANON lens to the max! I am glad we were able to do a sunset session with their young one. Usually parents opt for a morning session when they have younger kids. If you think your kids can handle the evening, I would definitely advise on doing so! The lighting is just so much better!
When considering outfits for your San Diego family photo session, keep in mind where you will be. If you are having a beach session, then keep in mind the length of your clothes. Long pants will most likely get wet, so you will either have to cuff them or opt for shorts. There is an alternative. For men’s pants, there are these Callaway golf pants that are water resistant! You can get them wet and they will dry off pretty much instantly!
