Scripps Beach Maternity Photos | Natalie + Anthony

Another successful and beautiful San Diego Maternity photoshoot at Scripps Pier and Scripps Beach! This location is just so versatile that my clients love having their maternity, or any portraits, taken there! We had a mix of sun and clouds, but we made it work!

I usually wait to shoot at the pier towards the end of the session, especially when the sun is bright. But in this case, I knew I was risking missing the sunlight later on in the session since I saw the clouds rolling in so I made the quick decision to start under the pier and I am sure glad I did! I love how the sun shines through! Added bonus, no one was shooting there yet 😉

I loved this bold blue maternity maxi dress! It went perfectly with the beach backdrop! Another reason why I wanted to wait to do the pier last was because I knew her dress would get wet and then I would get two toned colors, but to be honest I like it! It makes it real life, and not so posed.

Natalie looked absolutely stunning! She had that natural wind blowing through her hair! I swear we didn’t bring a fan! She had that beautiful pregnancy glow! And the way he would look at her and the baby just made your heart melt!

Natalie had brought 2 dresses to wear, which like I always say, is a great idea! It helps having to decide on the ONE dress you want to wear for this special portrait session and it recharges you during the shoot. I like to suggest completely different looks for the outfits. So for her first dress she had a solid color and for her second she had a floral print.

I can’t recall where her blue dress was from, but her floral maxi maternity dress was from PinkBlush. They have an amazing offering of cute maternity wear!
