Scripps Beach Family Photos | Marina + Ernie
Part of the fun of being a San Diego photographer is when your clients come back for more photo session! With Marina + Ernie, I did their maternity session and 6 months later they scheduled their first family shoot with Penelope at 6 months! We came back to where it all began with these Scripps Beach Family Photos | Marina + Ernie thought it would be cute to do the first shoot where they did the maternity shoot.
It was a gloomy day, but that didn’t stop little Penelope lighting up the shoot with her smile and giggles. The first time parents were so completely in love with her and were so excited to dress her up and enjoy this experience of capturing her at 6 months.
It was warm out at least, so I had them just enjoy the experience of being on the beach and showing Penelope all the ins and outs. The sand, the waves, the ocean, the pier. This helps in capturing those candid moments during a photo session. I like to mix it up with posed captures and candid captures.
Fortunately on our shoot day it was low tide so I went even further north at Scripps Beach to where there are lots of exposed rocks. I love the texture that it gives the photo and makes it feel like we are super isolated. Also helps with editing and not having to worry about people getting in your shot.
I felt like we got super luck with the family beach session as we were able to get Penelope to laugh a lot! You never know with babies what their reactions are going to be so I was super happy with the results. She is a very chill baby and was either observing her surroundings or giving us all the smiles! Definitely a success!
