Santee Courthouse Wedding Photos | J + C
As a Santee courthouse wedding photographer, I love the adventure aspect of the civil wedding as we explore in the boulders! It’s nearby the ceremony site, and in fact, has similar aesthetics. Which makes the whole event appear cohesive. The ceremony location is where we photograph the ceremony and then the friends and family photos, if there are guests. In this Santee Courthouse Wedding Photos | J + C opted for doing their couple portraits first, before the ceremony, to avoid the harsh light and heat. If you plan on getting married at the Santee county office in the summer, please choose the first morning appointment! It gets very hot!

The best season for a Santee civil wedding is spring time! There are so many flowers that bloom all over the mountain. Mixed with the rocks and boulders, it just feels like you are in another state. Summer is nice too because you get some of the dried plant, a burgundy color, but you just have to watch for the heat. Hence why I always suggest starting early with couple portraits. Ideally 7am, but usually we start around 8am. So make sure to book your appointments for the first morning time slot.

Another point I would like to stress is FOOTWEAR! Please wear comfy shoes for this portion of your session. If you want some shots in your heels, feel free to bring them in a bag and you can change into them. For the walking part, you definitely want something comfortable to walk up the hill. There are some short steep parts and safety comes first. Water is also a great idea, while on the topic of comfort. It’s a good idea to bring a light tote bag with water, change of shoes, a small towel to dry off sweat (if summer) and any makeup you need to touch up. Always nice to have backup!
