San Diego Courthouse Wedding Photos | C + J
As a San Diego courthouse wedding photographer, I love when brides get fun with their footwear! They say something blue, but what about something red! Her shoes were such a fun pop of color to her white wedding dress! I have had many brides comment on their struggle to figure out what to wear for their civil wedding. For some reason, they think that just because it’s a San Diego marriage license ceremony, that you can’t get all decked out, as if it were a “traditional” wedding. I am here to tell you that you can wear WHATEVER your heart desires. Whether it’s a long dress, a cathedral veil or not even a dress at all, and instead a pantsuit! There are no rules, just what makes you happy! If you plan on doing a more formal wedding later on, you can use your civil wedding outfit for that fun quirky dress! In these San Diego Courthouse Wedding Photos | C + J, C had a custom made dress!

Lately I have received some questions about how San Diego courthouse weddings are so I will share here. Vows. Yes, you can say your own vows, but usually the officiant will ask you to do them after the ceremony he or she gives. Walking down the aisle. Yes, you can have a short walk down the “aisle”. It’s just grass and some dirt at the end. Short and sweet. Keep in mind the officiants have ceremonies every 30 minutes, so we keep the walks short. Chairs? I have never seen chairs used. I don’t think they are allowed but if someone needs assistance they can certainly be in a walker, electric walker, wheelchair. Perhaps you could bring a pop up chair, but a full set of like 20 chairs I think you would need a park permit?
