Quail Ranch Wedding Photos | Selene + Tony

Where do I even begin with these beautiful Quail Ranch Wedding Photos | Selene + Tony were pure magic!! We were all so excited when the date finally came around because the couple didn’t even know if they would even be able to move forward with their original wedding date due to Covid-19. They were so patient and kept calm throughout the pre process that they were able to make modifications to their original wedding in order to be able to tie the knot in 2020. All of us wedding photographers are so happy we could still shoot some weddings in 2020, with safety precautions of course.

As a San Diego wedding photographer, it’s fun to be able to travel and shoot at other cities/states. It was my first time shooting at Quail Ranch, in Simi Valley, and I was so happy with the location! Such beautiful scenery all around the venue! The rose garden path in the ceremony area is a jaw dropper!! It’s 2 levels of stairs that make for an impactful entrance down the aisle. This can be used by the entire wedding party or just the bride. There is also a side entrance that the wedding party can come down before walking down the aisle.

As you can see from the photos above, the couple wanted to do a first look. A first look is when the couple see each other before the ceremony. A lot of couples do this to get the jitters out, or to have a private moment amongst themselves in this jam packed day. I always let couples decide whether they want to do one or not. The only time I highly encourage one is when it’s winter weddings and the ceremony time is too close to sunset time. I want to make sure you get that beautiful magic hour light for your formal portraits. Here is some wedding info I put together for couples planning their wedding timeline.

The ceremony was incredibly beautiful! Selene looked like a princess walking down the rose garden lined walkway! I got to capture her moments before walking down the aisle with her dad. It’s moments like these that remind me what a privilege it is to be a San Diego wedding photographer or portrait photographer too. I get to be a part of people’s intimate and special moments in their lives! Tony had so much love and heart in his eyes as he watched her.

I was so excited to shoot their formal portraits. They are such naturals in front of the camera, as I learned when I shot their engagement session earlier in the year at South Coast Botanic Garden. We started at the ceremony site and worked our way over to the opposite end of the venue to catch the last rays of the sunset.

They danced the night away in the open air and under the bright stars!
