Balboa Park Elopement Photos | C + K
As a San Diego elopement photographer, I love the intimacy of a guest less wedding day. Weddings can get very hectic and stressful. I think the guest list is one of the top stressors! Who to invite, who not to, who will get offended? It can feel overwhelming and like you are going things for others and not for you and your partner! I use Balboa Park a lot for additional couple portraits when couples get their marriage license at the San Diego county admn office, also known as a San Diego courthouse wedding. In these Balboa Park Elopement Photos | C + K, actually had their ceremony at the Alcazar Garden in Balboa Park. I must say that summertime in Balboa Park is beautiful and full of florals!

If you are planning a ceremony at Balboa Park, I highly recommend you choose an early morning time slot, or at least, a weekday. Summertime in San Diego and especially Balboa Park is high season. Lots of tourists! Just because you have a permit for say the Alacazar garden, that doesn’t mean they shut it down for you to use only. People can still walk by. It just gives you permission to have your ceremony there. Both weddings I shot that summer at Balboa Park did not use any chairs or anything. Everything is standing and no decor. The Alcazar garden offers you enough decor in the summer!

There are many amazing and picturesque spots all around Balboa Park. To be efficient while on your tour of the park, highlight some areas that you would like your photos taken at. You may want to review your photographers portfolio of other weddings he or she has done there. This way you can choose your top 3-5 spots. It depends on how much time you have allocated.
