As a San Diego wedding photographer, you will more than likely photograph a wedding on or near a beach! I wouldn’t call San Diego tropical by any means, but you can certainly find tropical wedding venues in San Diego. Bali Hai and Paradise Point are two popular wedding venues that makes you feel like you are being transported to Hawaii! In these Paradise Point Wedding Photos | E + R shared their special day with close friends and family. After some weird August weather, their wedding day gave way to the perfect day! Plenty of sunshine and a nice bay breeze!
As I always mention, you definitely want to do a walk thru at the wedding venue the week of the wedding. Ideally with the couple too. It helps ease the nerves a little when you have gone over locations and the timeline with the couple. That way the day off doesn’t feel so foreign. I like doing the walk thru the week off because you have a better idea of lighting and you can scope out the landscaping. I like to consider all the shoot location possibilities, knowing that on the day of you won’t actually go to all of them. Timing is never on time on a wedding day, and that is ok! That is totally normal. SO on the day of, you prioritize locations based on lighting and efficiency.
There are definitely many places where you can photograph at Paradise Point. You can the beach feels and the tropical jungle feels. One bonus are the water lilies at the pond! They are absolutely gorgeous!! Definitely makes you feel like you are in a Monet painting! When you do the walk thru, get a read from your couple on which they prefer.
