Pacific Beach San Diego Couples Photos | N+M
As a San Diego portrait photographer, I love when couples get their photo taken. It can be because they are celebrating something special or it can be because they simply want to remember this time in their lives. Many times couples think that there has to be a special occasion to take professional photos, like drinking champagne. I will never forget what the champagne tour guide told me, everyday is a celebration, so drink champagne every day! In other words, don’t save things for that special day, enjoy the now! So cheers to that, and of course feel free to have some champagne before your session if you are feeling shy. (Drive responsibly). In these Pacific Beach San Diego Couples Photos | N+M took me out of my usual locations and brought me to Palisades Park.

We had all types of weather that evening! Sunshine to gray clouds to last minute sunshine burst back to overcast! Definitely kept my camera settings on its toes! When shooting in weather that is constantly changing, I can’t stress enough how important it is to check your work as you are shooting. You don’t want to go half way through the session and then check in your camera how it’s looking. Quick weather changes mean quick checks to your camera. Especially when you turn and shoot in a different direction or move on to another location. Leverage the digital advantage!

We basically shot from Law Street beach to Tourmaline Beach and a little bit north of that. If shooting in this area, and especially if you want to head north, I would make sure the tide is low. Law St side you are usually ok, regardless of the tide, but as you head north, you loose beach if the tide is coming up. I love the cliff aspect and the rocks in front of the parking lot at Tourmaline. They don’t allow for much sand when the tide is high. So definitely check the calendar and if you can, book the date accordingly.
