Pacific Beach Family Photos | JB
As a San Diego wedding photographer, I love getting booked for their family portraits as well! As a San Diego family photographer, it’s so fun to get to know my clients families and see their family grow! In these Pacific Beach family photos | JB was celebrating his moms birthday. What better way to celebrate than by getting the immediate family together and having it captured to keep the memories forever!
They had rented a beautiful home in Pacific Beach, a couple blocks from the beach. So we decided to shoot at the home, in various locations, and at the beach of course! When shooting extended family portraits, it’s important to keep track of the different family combinations. It sort of resembles shooting wedding family portraits. You don’t necessarily have to have a set combination list ahead of time, although that always helps, but definitely make sure you are mixing it up as well as with the locations.
I scouted ahead of time the outside of the home. I wanted to see what was nearby in case we were not going to shoot at the home. It is always a great idea, whenever possible, to scout the shoot location ahead of time so that you don’t stress about finding spots to shoot at on the day of the shoot. When you can only scout on the day of, then I recommend arriving early to your shoot so you can take a look around before your shoot start time.
Make sure to do generational groupings as well. Grandparents with grandkids, parents and kids, cousins, etc. These are great memory keepsakes and make for perfect presents come holiday season or birthday! You can do framed prints or large canvas prints for the home as well.
