Los Peñasquitos Ranch House San Diego Engagement Photos | A + J
As a San Diego engagement photographer, I can’t stress enough how helpful it is to have an engagement photo session before your wedding. If you are not used to being in front of the camera, an engagement session is great practice! Plus it’s a fun way to dress cute and have content for your wedding website and save the date cards! This is also an opportunity to change up the backdrop. Let’s say you are getting married on the beach, then this would be a great time to choose a backdrop that is full of greenery. In this Los Peñasquitos Ranch House San Diego Engagement Photos | A + J opted for a meadow backdrop as they are considering a beach backdrop for their next session.

Always feel free to ask your photographer about wardrobe feedback. Especially if it is a place you have never been before. Your photographer will most likely have more knowledge and thus can let you know if the outfits you chose will go well with the backdrop. Always try on your outfits at least a week before to make sure everything is fitting how it should. Maybe two weeks before if you need something taken in. For maternity sessions, try them on and always buy an extra size bigger too. You grow so fast in the last months. Make sure you buy two and return the one you don’t end up using.

Shoes are important too! Not just the clothes. Always check with your photographer on the terrain so you can make sure you are comfortable. Now, that is not to say that if you want to wear heels on the cliffs at the beach you can’t. You can, but I would suggest taking them off and going barefoot first. Having a towel to wipe off feet. Then you can put your shoes on. Safety is always first before fashion. So always be prepared.
