Estancia La Jolla Proposal Photos | M + K
As a La Jolla engagement photographer, being a proposal photographer is also part of the job. Sometimes you get to shoot just the engagement session and other times you are witness to how it all started! San Diego is a great travel destination, whether its for a baby moon or a proposal! You can pretty much bet on great weather for most of the year. People take the opportunity of a trip to make a proposal even more memorable! In these Estancia La Jolla Proposal Photos | M + K, were supported by the hotel too to deliver a great proposal! The client had reserved the grass area with the cypress tress, the exact name I am blanking on. They also had champagne waiting for them after the YES! A great way to toast to a wonderful celebration!
Do make sure to always ask the hotel, if you are staying there, if it’s ok to have photos taken there. Estancia is a very popular hotel and there is always an event going on at any time of the year. You don’t want to go in thinking you can propose anywhere at any time and then realize it’s off limits. So definitely do yourself a favor and plan that ahead of time. Since there are people walking around, I didn’t feel my usual stress and panic of “can the one getting proposed to see me”. So that was refreshing 🙂
There are lots of areas to shoot at the hotel (if all areas are accessible). Parts of the hotel do get more shaded in the afternoon, so make sure to be strategic in finding the light. The Northside, where the stairs are does get cold light. As you have to walk down to the bottom. The western areas get more light. You don’t necessarily have to do it during magic hour, you can go 2 hours before sunset to get as much warmth as possible.
