Los Peñasquitos Ranch House Family Photos | A + J

As a San Diego family portrait photographer, nothing is more exciting than photographing a family’s first family photo session! Especially when you got to do their maternity and engagement session! It’s such an honor to see and capture a couples growth and milestones! Los Peñasquitos Ranch House is a beautiful location in San Diego that makes you feel like you have driven to another city! Whenever a client asks for some nature type backdrop, I always suggest this location. You get a lot of seasonal looks here too! Like in the late winter, everything goes green and you get some lavender purple flowers. In the fall you get a couple trees that have the changing colors on the leaves. In these Los Peñasquitos Ranch House Family Photos | A + J experienced their first professional photo session as a family of three!

I was so excited to meet their little one! He did such an amazing job in his first session. As first time parents, don’t feel the pressure of having to do newborn photos. That is a wild time and you don’t need to feel the weight of having to get ready to get your photo taken. I just experienced it myself! Of course you can opt to just have your little one or ones, get their photo taken if you want to document this short stage in their life! So basically, you can wait till they can sit up and hold their necks for their first shoot. It will be more relaxing not to have to hold them the entire time!

When working with babies, parents know that spit up happens! So make sure you DON’T put them in their photo outfit on the way to the shoot. Wait till you get there so you can avoid any spills or spit up! Same goes for toddlers. I am sure they will be getting some treats on the way and you don’t want to mess with crumbs! While on the topic of treats, please don’t give your kids any treats that will stain their tongue! Like a blue lollipop!
