As a La Jolla engagement photographer, I photograph a lot of engagement sessions at the beach. La Jolla offers such a beautiful coastline, you can’t go wrong with this San Diego engagement location! There is plenty of coastline to indulge in, just make sure you choose the right date! What I mean by that is making sure you are not photographing at a super high tide. It depends on which beach you choose. There are some beaches that offer more of the rocky, cliffy terrain and thus a high tide limits your surroundings. You might not get sand. So make sure you pick a date that works with the tide, especially if your clients want their feet in the sand! I love when couples bring their dog to their engagement session! They are such a part of your lives, why wouldn’t you want them to be a part of it. Of course, if your dog isn’t the best behaved fur baby, then perhaps it’s a good idea to leave them at home. Unless you can have a friend or family member help you be your dog handler. One thing to consider, especially if your dog loves the water and sand, is that they can jump on you out of pure joy and excitement! So bring a back up outfit should he or she gets yours dirty!
