As a La Jolla maternity photographer, it’s exciting to capture this new adventure in people’s lives! They are so elated with brining in a new family member or adding to the family! Many couples like to capture their maternity sessions at the beach. There are so many beautiful beaches in San Diego. In these La Jolla Scripps Beach Maternity Photos | Nancy + Clinton were excited to get their toes in the sand! Scripps Beach has many different backdrops to offer! From greenery, to roses, to trees to of course the ocean!
When picking out fashion looks for your session, keep in mind comfort and color! When shooting at the beach, I like contrasting colors like red, burgundy, pink along with white, denim and bright blue! If possible, I like when women wear one dress that exposes the belly and another dress that is covered. It’s nice to have that mixture. Whatever she feels the most comfortable and confident in takes priority!
Another tip when booking your San Diego maternity photo session, is to choose a date where low tide is at or around sunset. Especially when shooting at beaches with reefs and rocks. You get a whole underwater world exposed to you. It makes for some beautiful and mysterious looking locations! Scripps Beach is one of those locations. You have so many different rock formations the further north you go and that only happens at low tide. So it is important to keep that in mind when booking your session.
If you plan on dipping your toes in the water or actually getting in the water, make sure you have some warm clothes to change into afterwards! Even in the summertime, it can still get a little chilly once the sun goes down. Also something easy to change into since most likely you will be changing on the beach.
