As a San Diego senior portrait photographer, I love getting to help seniors have an amazing experience. From helping him or her pick out outfits or locations, I want their shoot to reflect them as who they are in this moment. High school senior portraits are a fun way to express yourself. In these La Jolla Scripps Beach High School Senior Portraits | Ali wanted a beach backdrop. Nothing says high school in San Diego like the beach. We made sure to pick a date where low tide was near sunset. This allows you to maximize the rocks and reefs that are at Scripps beach.
It’s always a great idea to pick out your outfits ahead of time. Then share the ideas with your photographer. This way, your photographer can help you decide in which order to photograph the outfits in. One could look better in a certain light or backdrop than another. Then you can be prepared to arrive in a certain look and know the order. Make sure outfits have been tailored to your size. Make sure you are wearing the appropriate undergarments with the outfits. When you are taking the outfits to the shoot, make sure to hang them instead of folding them to avoid wrinkling them.
Rest assured that your photographer will help you with posing. He or she will guide you throughout the session with tips and tricks. If you want to prepare for your session, it doesn’t hurt to practice in the mirror and see what angles you prefer. Practice different smiles and soft smiles. You can always let your photographer know your preferences. This is probably your first professional shoot, with the exception of some family shoots. So some practice will help ease your nerves.
