As a San Diego engagement photographer, it’s fun to feel the love excitement from your couple! Engagement photos are a great way for couples to warm up for their wedding day photos! As a San Diego wedding photographer, I cannot stress enough the joy an engagement session brings to a couple. These photos are are not only used for their save the date, but also a memory for the to keep. In these La Jolla Scripps Beach Engagement Photos | Jenna + Ryan were full of love and laughter! They had mentioned they wanted their engagement photos on the beach. I checked the tide calendar, to let them know the optimal day where sunset and low tide occurred at the same or near the same time. I keep stressing this point because it really changes the environment you are exposed to. More rocks, more reefs, more underwater beauty.
These two were such troopers! It was so windy that evening and cold, and they pushed through with tons of laughter and love. Even so, they still dipped their toes in the water and splashed around. Having outfit changes is a great way to get a variety of photos, apart from the different backdrops. When there are multiple outfits, I like to suggest to have two completely different looks. As she did here, one jean and blouse outfit and a dress outfit.
In this session, I stuck with my trusty CANON prime lenses. My 35mm prime lens and 85mm prime lens. I can absolutely depend on these lenses for my portrait session. Especially when it becomes blue light hour, this lens provides it all! When shooting blue light hour, make sure to always have them looking towards the horizon. You always want your client facing the light.
