As a La Jolla engagement and wedding photographer, it’s exciting to get booked for wedding anniversary photoshoots! What a great way to celebrate such a memorable day! Even more, you get to choose a new backdrop for your portraits. If you got married in the desert and now want an ocean backdrop you can! You don’t need to do family portraits to get professional photos taken of you and your partner. You can solely do a couples photoshoot for yourselves! In these La Jolla Scripps Beach Couples Photos | J + P are celebrating 25 years of marriage! I was very impressed! More so cause they look like they are 25 years old and I am doing their engagement photos!
When booking in late spring, early summer in San Diego, know that there is a good chance you will encounter some marine layer by the beach. Sometimes it does cool off by the late afternoon but other times it will stay overcast. In this case, we had a few minutes were it did burn off and we soaked in those rays of sunshine. Be prepared though. When this happens, I would start your session earlier than the normal magic hour light. I would also stay away from wearing white as you will blend in with the backdrop. Add some color to really pop and stand out!
Also be aware that when you are booking a beach photoshoot, you are more than likely going to get your feet wet! Make sure to cuff up your pants! Be prepared to scrunch up your dress too! If you do not want your clothes to get wet at all, then I would stay away from the sand or choose a different outfit. Getting your feet in the water totally change the feel of the shoot. Allow yourself to immerse into your surroundings. It will really open you up during your session!
