La Jolla Maternity Cove Photos | V + M
As a La Jolla maternity photographer, I love capturing this exciting moment in a couples life. So many changes are going on that it definitely merits a photo session to encapsulate this memory. The biggest question I get, for a maternity session, is WHEN to schedule it. That answer varies on a case by case basis. Some women show as early as seven to eight months and others not until two weeks before their due date! I always recommend to book it when you are still feeling comfortable and able to walk around. Many women start to get really tired as the due date approaches. Many couples use their Babymoon trip as an excuse for a maternity shoot as well. In these La Jolla Cove Maternity Photos | V + M, were visiting and definitely wanted a beach backdrop!

Next important question I get is, WHAT DO I WEAR? There are so many options out there, it can feel overwhelming! When I did my own shoot I had three looks. From Bumpsuit to Amazon, I got three different feels. I will say, the tighter the better! This is your chance to rock the bodycon dresses. They flatter the body so much! I don’t love when the sleeves are too big or puffy as they cover the bump on profile shots. Dresses with a middle opening are good for bump exposure. Loose fitting dresses I feel add to much bulk. The focus should be on the bump with long, bodycon dresses.

Now that you have your dress chosen, order it in two different sizes! I learned from a client to order two sizes as you don’t know how quickly the bump can grow. The last thing you want is to be stressing that the dress doesn’t fit the night before the shoot. So do yourself a solid and order in two sizes so you can show up comfortable. Make sure to check the return policy on the one you don’t use.
