La Jolla Proposal Photos | K + T
As a La Jolla engagement photographer, at least half of my sessions include a proposal. There are many ways to go about capturing this important event in your lives. Some couples want the proposal photographed and then do a more formal engagement session afterwards. This allows them to have their outfits picked out and they can use the photos for the save the dates cards. Other couples are more private and do their proposal on their own and then book an engagement session afterwards. Some couples don’t even book an engagement session till a couples weeks out from their wedding when they suddenly realize they don’t have any professional photos taken of themselves as a couple and they want a warm up session before the wedding. In these La Jolla Proposal Photos | K + T were visiting from out of town and enjoyed a destination proposal!
San Diego, La Jolla specifically is a beautiful destination. Most of the time you will encounter great weather. There are a few months where you can encounter overcast fog or have the clouds roll in late in the afternoon. May through July is pretty overcast, historically. We call it, ‘May Gray’ and ‘June Gloom’. July hasn’t gotten a nickname yet but I am sure it will soon! Best months to visit with warm weather are Aug-Oct. We call this the locals summer (Sept + Oct). With that being said though, as you can see from the photos, no overcast weather can steal your proposal thunder! Your partner will still be shocked and excited and beaming with happiness and love!
Your photographer will help guide you along the way. He or she will suggest ring boxes, outfits, locations and even timeline for the day. Don’t be shy to lean on your local photographer. They are there to help capture one of the most important days of your lives and making it easy!
