I have always loved mixing fashion and travel! There is nothing like an outdoor fashion shoot with nature as your backdrop! So when we last minute decided to go to the Channel Islands, specifically Anacapa Island, my fashion muse Hannah asked her friend Georgia, of Pequeño Heart, to style some looks! This yellow jacket was all the things in this commercial photos: Hannah X Pequeno Heart. Hannah was literally jumping for joy!
Right when we got to the island we started shooting towards the lighthouse. Everyone else went and did the walking tour on the opposite end of the island. The island is not that large, so you are able to walk the whole island. I believe the walking tour was around an hour so we figured we would do it later in the day.
This yellow jacket against the blue sky and water as a backdrop could not have been more of a perfect match!! By that time it was around 2pm wish so at least some of the sun was behind Hannah and not casting weird shadows on her face! Before we started shooting we all took in the view. Deep breaths over the deep blue sea!
I went to town on the light leaks for this series. I wanted hues of pinks and orange mixed with the blue background and yellow center subject! We kept the outfit simple so the focus was this indigenous weaved jacket, a clean white body suit and of course a Brixton overside fedora.
When we were enjoying the views we saw people in the water on their boats. You are allowed to come visit on your boat or kayak. Many people fish or go snorkeling. However, I believe the only access down to the water was where we got let out on the boat. That is the only “dock” that makes it accessible to the water.
