Carlsbad Flower Fields Family Photos | PS
As a San Diego family photographer, we are used to shooting at the beautiful beaches or wooded areas. Once a year we get the chance to shoot at the Carlsbad Flower Fields Family Photos | PS. It’s such a beautiful sight to see! Fortunately this year they extended the dates to after Mother’s Day! This was a last minute shoot, but fortunately we were able to make it happen despite the weather not cooperating! I would suggest shooting at the flower fields at the first or last time slot.
There is so much area to cover at the Flower Fields so I definitely suggest scouting the area beforehand. Take your time and take into account the amount of people. Different angles to shoot your subjects from. You can shoot from below, from above! I regret not having taken my stool so I could be a bit taller but thankfully the there is an uphill.
The fields have little lookout areas to take photos. I would turn to the side and then you can get the flowers on the foreground too! With so many flowers, I would suggest having your clients wear simple patterns or preferably solids. I would also have them stay in the same color palette range too. You don’t want so many colors on your subjects with such a colorful backdrop.
Besides the fields themselves, there is also an area with a couple of gazebos. This is a nice way to switch up the backdrop so it’s n to just rows of tulips and flowers. There is also a whole east side of the hill with tons of flowers too and not that many people. There there is an area with a fountain surrounded with flowers too! This way you can have the flowers higher up and covering more of the backdrop.
