FAMILY photos: La Jolla Cove

On this San Diego family photoshoot, my client wanted a little mix of forest and trees with the beach. It made me think of a place I used to go to as a little girl. La Jolla Cove is pretty well known, but this part is a little more secluded. I thought it was the perfect hybrid she was imagining for her family photos: La Jolla Cove.

Right before entering the trails, there was this beautiful tree with the brightest yellow leaves so I quickly snapped a few photos of the family and their kids. The little girl was loving throwing the leaves in the air!

This was one of my favorite spots! I just love the lush green background!! San Diego just had a rain storm a few days ago, so everything is just booming with life! It was hard to get more angles cause from my standpoint is was extremely muddy and I was a bit scared I was going to slide down, so I was very quick to snap these shots.

Sometimes kids start to get fussy during photoshoots, and that’s ok, that’s pretty much expected. So I have learned to let them be and chill for a moment and in the meantime give the parents a throwback to their wedding day and shoot some couple portraits. Let’s have them have some fun and romance!

They were a little shy at first, but then they let go! The light was so beautiful at that time I kept egging them on to continue to have fun and pretend they are on their first date again!

The ocean looked cold and the sun was going down fast. We continued walking down the trail and found some more greens. The little one was getting a bit restless so mom knew what to do, as all moms do. Play around and make her giggle to expand that energy!

Of course there is nothing like a father son bond too!

It was definitely a fun shoot, I like to mix posed shots with fun be yourself candids. And in between those two, the natural family moments!
