Bali Hai Wedding Photos | Michelle + Bobby
As a San Diego Wedding Photographer, I am a big fan of Bali Hai Weddings! You great a beautiful mix of tropical greenery vibes and epic Downtown San Diego cityscape views with the blue marina. The staff at Bali Hai are super sweet and make sure you are well taken care of. The ceremony site is the same but there are two different reception rooms. One outdoor and one indoor. I am used to shooting at the indoor one but in this Bali Hai Wedding Photos | Michelle + Bobby had the outdoor location. You get great views of the marina and have the fresh air. The only negative is that due to noise, you have to finish earlier than the other reception room (please confirm with Bali Hai).

Depending on the time of the ceremony, you can have a lot of sun on the ceremony arbor or not. At early ceremony times there is a lot of sun exposure. You want to make sure you find the right angles and correct settings on your camera. If you can, I would advise your clients ahead of time to have some kind of covering on the arbor to help shade them a little. You don’t want them too shaded or the lighting will be too contrasted.

When scouting Bali Hai for your client’s wedding, make sure to walk the entire property. The area behind the ceremony, the green plant area, the dock and even the path that leads to the marina. You want to make sure you are aware of all your options so whatever weather or lighting you get that day, you have a plan in mind. Also, I would suggest scouting within two weeks of the wedding date. Ensuring the same sun positioning.
