As a San Diego portrait photographer, I get asked to do head shots, personal branding photos, dating profile photos and more. What these all have in common is capturing who you are in that moment. When I photograph quince portraits, I get the opportunity to bring out the birthday girl’s personality. Quinceañeras are a traditional celebration of young latin girls turning 15 years old. You can either have a big party to celebrate or you take a trip. When you have a party, you get your Quinceañears portraits done ahead of time so you have enough time to get them photographed and printed for your party. In these Balboa Park Quinceañera Photos | JR wore an incredible gown and beautiful jewelry that made her the princess of Balboa Park!

When you are booking your daughter’s quince portraits, I highly recommend you join and one other person as well. Sometime these quince dresses can be difficult to maneuver and weigh a lot. Having two helpful hands can help make sure more time is spent taking photos than trying to keep the dress from tripping up. The plus side of these long dresses, is that your quince princess can wear whatever shoes she likes because you can’t see them. So definitely plan on having her wear flat sandals or shoes. The last thing you want is for her to be in heels and get tired. We want to avoid getting any blisters. Especially if you choose a location where some walking is involved!

There are so many great locations to choose from in San Diego for your Quinceañera portraits! I have photographed one at the beach. Balboa Park however, I must say, is just perfect. It just screams princess vibes! There are so many different type of backdrops to choose from. If possible, I would allot for 2 hours to really get to walk a lot of the park. Sunset sessions really are the best for this location!
