UCSD Grad Photos | NC

As a UCSD Grad photographer, I love exploring the campus time and time again. Each session is different as it is a different time of day, different weather, different vegetation and more. So each time I photograph UCSD graduation photos, I find a new angle to shoot from. Grad portraits are such a fun time of the year. It usually starts in April, more so with the USD and SDSU students as they graduate in May. Then May and June is filled with UCSD students, as they graduate in June. As soon you know when you are getting your cap, gown and stols, I would book your session. These sessions book up fast! Especially the UCSD grad portraits when students want photos both on campus at Geisel and at Scripps Beach. The best time to shoot at the beach is when it’s low tide either in the early morning or low tide. Those dates are limited so you want to get them first! In these UCSD Grad Photos | NC chose to stay on campus only.

When you finally do receive your gown and stols, make sure to steam or iron them! Check which is best, but it makes photos look so much nicer when it’s smooth and wrinkle free. Many students open them for the first time at the start of the session and everything is creased. Take the five to ten minutes to steam everything and place them on a hanger. Bonus Pro Tip: Bring double sided tape. It can get windy and those stols can sure fly! Double sided tape help keeps the stols in place.

Take advantage of this opportunity of getting professional photos to also get a headshot. Most of you are entering the workforce or grad school and a headshot for your LinkedIn is important. Since you are already dressed up and hired a photographer, make sure to bring either a blazer or shirt/blouse that you would like to wear for your headshot. It’s super fast and it goes a long way!
