UCSD Grad Photos | EM

As a UCSD grad portrait photographer, I love when grads want to add Scripps Beach to their session. Students here are so lucky to study so close to the ocean! Some are so focused on studying that it isn’t till their grad session that they actually go to the beach! You always think you are going to have time to go and then four years fly by! Another thing I love is when grads add props to their grad session! Make the session yours, show your personality! In these UCSD Grad Photos | EM, brought the fun to her grad portrait session! We started at Geisel Library and finished up at Scripps Beach.

When it comes to wardrobe, make sure to wear comfortable shoes. If they are new, make sure to break them in. For your stoles, make sure to steam or iron them. Also the gown could use some steaming too. Many times, grads are opening up the gown for the first time. You may see some creases. It helps to steam. You don’t have to have props, but it doesn’t hurt if you do. Some like to add flowers, decorate their cap, or bring accessories. Make the shoot about you and reflect who you are!

If there are particular spots you want to be photographed on your campus, make sure to let your photographer know. You know this place better and know what memories you want to keep. You can either let them know ahead of time or when you meet for the shoot. If locations are far apart then let your photographer know ahead of time so they can calculate logistics. You want to make sure you have enough time for your session to get to all the places you want to be photographed at.
