San Diego Courthouse Wedding | Pam + Steve

As a San Diego courthouse wedding photographer, I love seeing my couples add an adventure component to their wedding portraits! What does this mean? This means that if you had your eye on another backdrop, completely different than the courthouse setting you chose, you can do that! There are many places nearby, whether it’s the beach or the park or boulders! All of the marriage license locations are great, but it’s your day and you can add more fun to your session! In these San Diego Courthouse Wedding | Pam + Steve added the famous Wedding Bowl location to their wedding portraits. They wanted that picturesque La Jolla cove backdrop.

Now, I would like to say that if you are planning on using Cuvier Park, AKA The Wedding Bowl for your wedding portrait location add on, keep in mind that there could actually be a wedding going on. So have a back up plan for other similar spots. There are plenty of locations around there, so when you do your walk through with your client, make sure to point out the Plan B locations. Of course you will be walking around the area anyway, but in case they have their heart set on a particular spot, let them know that there might be a wedding in which case you can wait or will have to skip.

Pam + Steve’s San Diego civil wedding also shows you how you can incorporate “traditional” wedding activities into your courthouse wedding. Pam had her father walk her down the aisle. The officiants at the courthouse are very friendly and they are very welcoming if you want to incorporate these activities into your special day! First looks can also happen on your special day. You just allocate some time before your ceremony start time. Coordinate that you and your partner arrive separately with your photographer and have the location confirmed ahead of time. You can make your day the way you want it!
