Los Peñasquitos Ranch House Family Photos | Lindsay
As a San Diego family photographer, I like to offer a variety of backdrops for my clients. Whenever I get an inquiry, I always ask what they envision for their session. Some have a specific idea and others are open to suggestions. It’s always a good idea to ask, because you want to provide them with as close as an experience that they want. In these Los Peñasquitos Ranch House Family Photos | Lindsay was open to ideas on any non beach location. I always like to suggest the meadow feel of this location or a park like Balboa Park.

Whenever you do get a client that specifically wants a location and references one of your sessions, always inform them of the time of year and time of day the session was photographed. There are many variables that can go in to how a session turns out. For example, they might want a certain beach location with that kind of lighting. You would have to explain the tide that occurred, the time of the year that it was. All those factors contribute to how a photo will turn out.

When photographing families, you should always ask what different combinations they are looking for. Specifically, the family groupings. Do they want a portrait each parent with each child? Do they want just one parent with all the kids? Do they just want the parents and then the kids separate. There are different combinations, so make sure to clarify which works for them. Never assume! Better to ask and to clarify again on the session day. You want to make sure you are meeting and exceeding their family photography needs!

Don’t forget to off to review their outfit choices to make sure it all flows!
