LIFESTYLE photos: Marlboro Woman, Valley of Fire, Nevada
My two favorite types of photography are fashion and travel! When I am able to combine the two, my soul and spirit comes alive! On this photo road trip adventure; LIFESTYLE photos: Marlboro Woman, Valley of Fire, Nevada.
Valley of Fire had been on my road trip bucket list for awhile so it was great to get in the car with my fashion muse and check it out! September is still hot out there, so we shot at dusk and mid morning. This Marlboro Woman series was shot mid morning, only because we had the high rocks to shield us from the harsh light.
The rocks were soooo vibrant and orange! We found this little spot and decided to shoot there, mainly because there weren’t that many visitors. Then we noticed it was great to shield the light as the sun was ready to blaze through.
A must when you are out in Nevada on a road trips is a great travel fashion hat. Verina is wearing hers from Brose Brothers. The back of my car looked like a hat tornado, but you can’t have too many 😉 Props always help a photoshoot.
I definitely suggest spending at least a day or 2 in Valley of Fire. Preferably in the early / mid morning to the later afternoon/sunset. I am not a big nighttime photographer, but if I were I would definitely stay at night and shoot star photos. They are so well lit!
I am also a fan of polaroid film, who isn’t? What I like the most about it is that it makes you slow down and really think about your subject and composition. Now i’m a mover. It’s a good thing I stretch, because I will move all around you till I find that look that locks in my eyes. Click!
