LIFESTYLE photos: Hannah X Anacapa Island Prairie
There is nothing more fun to find than abandoned structures. On Anacapa Island, part of the Channel Islands we came across this abandoned looking farmhouse. It was the perfect place for our last fashion shoot of the day. We had to get back to the boat in 45 min so we didn’t have a choice but to make this spot our last one. I had so much fun with these lifestyle photos: Hannah X Anacapa Island Prairie look.

The tones of green in this farmhouse just lit up Hannah’s eyes! The lighting was perfect, as we could finally find some shade and we just quickly went to work. We didn’t have much time, as the tour guide came looking for us since everyone wanted to get back on the boat early!! So we had a few minutes but by that time Hannah was in muse mode and she knew what to do.

I am so grateful I have friends that humor me and come along for the photography ride! It’s not always easy to be in front of the camera. When I shoot my muses I talk to them, I create the story of what we are shooting and then awaken that character in them so much so that they become that person. I think this kind of dialogue between the photographer and subject is so important to capture authentic moments.

I can’t help but shoot portrait style when I am using my 70-200mm lens. They just come out so perfectly!! The lens is so sharp and the photos just look so good! For this day, I did bring along my 24-70mm which lately I haven’t been using too much. I don’t know if I got used to my 35mm prime lens and I feel like the quality of the color isn’t as good in the 24-70mm. But the 24-70mm lens is so versatile that it’s hard to not want to give it another try.
